Gagetown and Area Health Services Association Inc.
The Association is a volunteer-run, non-profit, registered charity espablished in 2003 to support the Gagetown Clinic and help maintain and develop health services in the Village of Gagetown and surrounding areas (Queenstown/Hampstead, Upper Gagetown, Jemseg and Cambridge Narrows). The Association has a 10 member board with area-wide representation.
Membership is open to anyone, 19 years of age or older, interested in issues of health and wellness within the area. Annual dues are $10, and life memberships are $200 – tax receipts are issued for all memberships.
What we have accomplished:
*purchased furnishings and equipment for the Gagetown Clinic
*provided training for the ambulance service
*provided CPR courses for area residents
*presented information evenings on a range of health-related issues
*donated funds to the Oromocto Public Hospital & Dr Everett Chalmers Hospital Foundations
*developed and supplied projects encouraging physical activity and play
What our goals are:
*assist in developing more health care services in the area as needed by residents and physician
*continue to review government programs and other initiatives to see how these may be used in improving the health and wellness of citizens of the area
*continue to support the Clinic, the Queens Central Ambulance Service, the OPH and DECH and projects relating to health and wellness
*continue to bring area health issues and concerns to the attention of appropriate authorities, as well as informing area residents about health and wellness topics
Funds to support our activities are raised by:
*memberships, donations, suppers, a concert, silent auctions, raffles.
