Gagetown School is a vibrant Kindergarten to grade 8 school nestled on the banks of the St. John River. The school has a wide-ranging catchment area that includes the communities of Swan Creek, Upper Gagetown, Coytown, Hampstead, Upper Hampstead, Central Hampstead and the Village of Gagetown.
Gagetown School combines the close-knit feel of a rural school with cutting-edge and diverse co and extra-curricular programs. It is often referred to as “small but mighty” school. All classrooms and resource rooms have a Smart Board and high-speed wireless. Students have access to a fully-stocked library, a gymnasium with a spacious stage and sound system. The school also has two dedicated playground areas for Elementary and Middle Level, a canteen, a breakfast program offered every morning and hot lunches offered two to three times a week.
Built in 1961, Gagetown School has maintained its commitment to students and the community for over 55 years, and is still going strong. Gagetown School includes a dedicated and talented team of teachers and staff who go beyond their call of duty as they create conditions that foster student academic and personal growth.
Students and Staff at Gagetown School continue to be supported by many volunteers from the community, including the Gagetown and District Recreation Council, Inc. You can see over 100 volunteers dedicate many hours and energy to the school; be it serving breakfast or hot lunch; sitting on various committees or organizations; leading sports teams; facilitating clubs or fundraising efforts to off-set the cost of many programs or activities. Gagetown School recognizes that many of these activities would not be made possible without volunteers! Gagetown School has mounted elementary and middle school productions and won various local and provincial drama awards at Festivals. Chess players from the school club team continue to compete and perform well in the Anglophone School District – West Competition.
