The Village of Gagetown Council meets the third Monday of each month at the Municipal Office on 68 Babbit Street.  Meetings are open to the public and begin at 6:30pm. 

Should a Public Hearing, Special or Emergency Meeting of Council be called, the Notice will be posted below.

The Village of Gagetown hereby gives notice that it intends to sell two 1.4-acre lots which are a portion of PID #45097862, illustrated below.  The purchase price of each lot will be $80,000.

 Job Opening for the Village of Gagetown

The Village of Gagetown is accepting applications for the position of
Maintenance/Public Works Operator

This is new, full-time, year ‘round position as a Maintenance/Public Works Person, reporting directly to
the Village Administrator/Clerk. The successful candidate will have or must obtain Level 1 Wastewater
Operator Certification (participation in other courses may also be required). All applicants must have a
minimum Grade 12 or GED equivalent due to this requirement.

Must be physically fit and be able to lift up to 50 lbs (23kg). Must be able to work as a team player and
independently. The person must be a self-starter and motivated. The position will be 40 hours per
week. Overtime may be required occasionally. Person must be available for emergency call outs.
Must have good communication skills, both written and oral and be willing and able to deal with the
public. The successful candidate must be neat and tidy in appearance. They will be required to
supervise and work with our summer students and will be part of the interviewing process. They will
also meet with contractors, inspectors, etc.

The applicant will have to provide criminal record check, and drivers abstract prior to acceptance of
positon. Must have, and be willing to use own truck. Must have a valid driver’s licence (minimum Class
5). Proof of licence and insurance required. Vehicle allowance is provided.

Duties include but are not limited to, routine building maintenance, equipment maintenance, general
road maintenance, assisting sewerage technician (and eventually take over those responsibilities after
his retirement), operate various equipment (chain saw, bush saw, pole saw, trimmers, ride on lawn
mower, tractors, etc.), grass cutting, tree trimming, brush cutting, some cleaning, some general
plumbing duties, snow removal, care taking duties, submitting reports for council, inventory control and
ordering, etc. This is not a complete list and other tasks may be assigned. A complete job description is

A benefits package including pension plan and competitive salary is offered as well as paid training as
required (example: Wastewater Operator Certification if not already certified).
Preference will be given to individuals with proven experience.
